1st trimester
Weeks 4–13Everything is forming: heart, brain, arms and legs. You mostly notice nausea and fatigue.
2nd trimester
Weeks 14–27Often the best time. Your bump grows, you feel the first kicks – and the sex can be seen.
3rd trimester
Weeks 28–42Your baby gains weight and settles into position. Now it is about getting ready for birth.

This is how your baby grows from week 4 to week 42. The fruits are drawn to the same scale, so you can see the smallest next to the largest – swipe sideways.
Lengths are averages. Up to week 19 the baby is measured from crown to rump; from week 20 from crown to heel – hence the jump at week 20.
